What is MOTS-c?
MOTS-c is a peptide molecule discovered by Dr. Ping Ling and a team of scientists from the
University of Southern California. This peptide was identified in the “power centres” of our
cells, the mitochondria.
MOTS-c is a relatively new compound still under investigation to determine its full range of
potential health benefits. However, scientific research suggests that MOTS-c may provide
multiple beneficial effects on the human body.
One of the most well-known effects of this peptide is its role in metabolism regulation,
making it one of the key molecules responsible for metabolic control. Studies indicate that
MOTS-c can improve glucose tolerance, with possible benefits in diabetes management.
As a signalling molecule, MOTS-c can communicate with various cells and organs in the
body, contributing to the reduction of chronic inflammation and the slowing of ageing
processes
The administration and dosage of MOTS-c vary based on individual needs. The standard
dosage is 10 clicks per day.
The product is injected into the abdominal area or the front of the thigh. After injection, it is
recommended to wait 10 seconds before removing the needle, rotating the injection site
with each administration.
Available in two formats:
• 15 mg pen: concentration 5 mg/ml, total 3 ml
• 30 mg pen: concentration 10 mg/ml, total 3 ml
Although MOTS-c is a relatively new peptide, numerous clinical trials are investigating its
efficacy and therapeutic potential.
One of the first experiments conducted on mice found that subjects treated with MOTS-c
showed improved metabolism and reduced inflammation compared to the control group. A
study published in Nature Communications, conducted on human participants who
received MOTS-c for five days, showed better cognitive performance and improved sleep
quality compared to the placebo group. A study published in Cell Metabolism, focused on
athletes, found that those who received MOTS-c demonstrated better muscle function and
increased physical endurance. A further study, also published in Cell Metabolism,
conducted on diabetic mice, showed that MOTS-c improved blood sugar regulation and
promoted weight loss, suggesting potential benefits in diabetes management.
To date, no significant side effects have been reported from the use of MOTS-c. Some rarely
reported effects in a few studies include:
• Headache
• Nausea
• Stomach discomfort
MOTS-c may be safe for use if the correct dosage is followed, avoiding high doses or
prolonged use.
