What is PT-141 (Bremelanotide)?
PT-141 is a peptide developed by Palatin Technologies that acts as an agonist of the
melanocortin MC1 receptor, used for the treatment of various sexual dysfunctions and
other related health issues.
Bremelanotide is the synthetic analogue of the melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH),
which stimulates melanin production in the skin. PT-141 was developed as a remedy for
sexual dysfunction and also finds application in the treatment of other medical issues.
PT-141 acts as a stimulant of melanocyte receptors and xanthine receptors. This action
contributes to increasing libido and sexual desire in both men and women. The peptide
also helps improve erectile function in men and supports the treatment of various types of
sexual dysfunctions in women. Research on PT-141 continues to explore its positive impact
on depression, mental health, chronic pain, hormonal imbalances, and other health
issues.

PT-141 is administered on demand, prior to sexual activity.
Primary dose — 5 clicks, taken approximately 3-4 hours before sexual activity.
Boosting dose — To enhance the effect, an additional 5 clicks can be taken immediately
before sexual activity.
The product is injected into the abdominal area or the front of the thigh. After injection, it is
recommended to wait 10 seconds before removing the needle, rotating the injection site
with each administration.
Each pen has a concentration of 5 mg/ml, for a total of 3 ml and 15 mg overall.

PT-141 is used to support sexual function in men and women. Numerous clinical trials have
demonstrated its positive effect in the treatment of sexual dysfunction.
In a clinical study conducted in 2000 by Dr. Hyla Cass, women suffering from hypoactive
sexual desire disorder participated. Participants were divided into two groups, one treated
with PT-141 and the other with a placebo. Results showed that women treated with PT-141
experienced a higher level of sexual desire and greater satisfaction with sexual activity.
In 2004, another clinical study was conducted involving 20 men suffering from erectile
dysfunction. With the application of PT-141, a significantly higher level of sexual
stimulation, more durable erection, and overall improvement in sexual function were
observed.
In 2010, a third study on the impact of PT-141 was published in the Journal of Sexual
Medicine. The research involved 327 women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder,
highlighting an improvement in sexual satisfaction, desire, and activity with the application
of the peptide

PT-141 has a positive effect on sexual dysfunctions, but like any medication it may cause
some side effects. Observed effects are typically mild and generally resolve within a few
days:

• Nausea
• Skin irritation
• Increased blood pressure
